Merlin Posters - Merlin & Arthur
“My dad would have liked you.”
Bruce looks up from a file of notes he’s found- something called extremis, and a bit beyond him if he’s being honest. “I’m sorry?”
Tony’s been staring at him for some time, it seems.
“Scientist and rage monster? Brilliant.” he picks up a piece of metal that might be part of an arc reactor prototype, gives it a glance and puts it down again. “Plus, you know, dad always liked a bargain.”
Bruce considers this, and thinks about the bills for warehouses, roads, and the truly ridiculous amount he spends on replacing clothes.
“I think I would have been expensive in the long run.” Banner pushes his glasses up his face and rubs his nose. “But if he was anything like you-“
“He wasn’t.” Tony cuts him off, his back to Bruce. “Not in any of the ways that mattered, really.”
And that particular tone of voice is rather familiar, though in Banner’s case it often sends people running in the other direction very, very fast. He pauses for a second, fiddling with his pencil, then returns to Tony’s notes.
“Then I’m not very interested in wether he would have liked me or not.”
